6 Business Recovery Centers Offer Post-Flood Assistance

Flood-hit businesses and nonprofits in five Louisiana parishes now can access a wide range of services through six Business Recovery Centers created by Louisiana Economic Development in partnership with the Louisiana Small Business Development Centers and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Experienced consultants at the centers will help business owners re-establish their operations and plan for their future. SBA representatives will provide information on disaster-recovery loans of up to $2 million to cover losses not addressed by insurance or other assistance. LSBDC consultants will provide program information, answer questions and help businesses apply for financial help.

In addition, small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small aquaculture operations and most private, nonprofit organizations can apply for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans to help meet working-capital needs caused by the disaster. This assistance is available regardless of whether the business suffered any property damage.
